I want to express my condolensces to the Guyanese people, while they are suffering through continous rains and flooding. It has been a bad year weather wise for the entire Caribbean region, and I pray for the remainder of this year that we experience a quiet weather system.

To Chicokid, or anyone that knows:

How is Grenada doing since the aftermath of the Hurricane last year? I read recently that they received some financial aid,I dont remeber from who, but it was a vast amount. It is good that people and organizations are reaching out globally and regionally.

The most aid we got that I know of is the US$42 million out of the US$100 million that the US Government gave to help hurricane hit islands like Grenada, Jamaica, Barbados, and Haiti. Only recently, Grenada got $20,000 from Cyprus and another $20,000 from the Fakland Islands.

Canada and the UK also help us out as well as Greece and other Caribbean islands like Trinidad.

We also received assistance from other islands in terms of labour with restoring electricity and telephone services. Guyana military is here with us for six months to help rebuild homes and schools.

China will also construct 2,000 low income houses

    Hope that helps

True..but with all disasters appearing all over the place, especially the Asia disaster which by all acoount is FAR WORST than Grenada, we have to be sure that all the aid packages promised to Grenada doesn't go up in smoke

A release from the Government stated that Grenada has received about EC$100 million (about US$37.5 million) in aid support since Hurricane Ivan.
